Saitama City designated "Iwatsuki Dolls", "Omiya Bonsai" and "Urawa Eel" as Saitama City's traditional industries. The three industries have been nurtured in the city's climate and life based on the traditional technologies and spirit in its own historical and cultural background, and have accumulated cultural wealth. Even now they actively engage in economic activities while maintaining the tradition.

Traditional industries born out of the history and regional characteristics of Saitama City which utilize valuable skills and techniques, vitalize the local culture, and serve as assets for the general public through accentuating the region’s uniqueness are designated as traditional handicraft industries of Saitama City.
